My son just turned 6 years old in Jan. he has always had problems in Head start and was kicked out his 2nd day at kindergarten. He is now in a school for children with adhd and behaviorial issues. He is not getting better and somtimes it feels hopeless like I have no control to help him. he currently on adderal, but the meds don't work. I don't know how much more I can take and watch him be drugged I feel like it is my fault he is this way like I failed him and it breaks my heart every day any suggestions.

Please don't give up!! You and I are similar ages and so are our kids so if you're interested, we could email one another. While my child isn't on any medication, we are still probably going through similar life circumstances. Just email me anytime: randifinancial@hotmail.com Just keep going; it will be ok!

Hello: Your son is of the age where you can still help. Studies show that early intervention works the best in behavior issues like adhd. I am currently taking a course called "Teaching Students With Behavioral Disorders." Although I'm no expert, our son started with adhd, now is into Oppositional Defiant Disorder and could be moving into Conduct Disorder. Make sure he is diagnosed using the proper tools. If you do not have access to a therapost or better, you may have to wait until he is in first grade, but please get him the help he needs. If you wait, the results could be much worse.

It's not your fault why your child is like that... God has given you the priviledge and trusted you (special parents) to take care of the kids like him because He knows that these children is in good hands... I have a son 7 yrs old too who is recently diagnosed with PDD with ADHD.. Sometimes I feel down too but I trust in God that He has reasons why He has given me this "Gift". Don't loose hope, you will soon find all the help that you need...

Are you seeing any special type of Dr to help you with your child's disabilities? Like a Dev Pediatrician, neurologist etc. You also should be able to get some help dealing with him through the school. Look for any support available to you. I have two sons with problems. One has Tourettes, Non verbal learning disability etc.. and the other probably ADD. We are all challenged but getting help with help ease some of the problems. New medication and a Dr can help . Good luck!!!

Every month on a regular schedule.
I try to do it every month, although I forget sometimes.
