I HAVE AN ADDICTION

Posted by tree

I AM AN RECOVERING ADDICT, I ALSO SUFFER FROM BEING ABUSED FROM AN ADDICT. COMMENCING FROM THE WOMB..I AM ADDICTED TO A MAN THAT IS NOT GOOD FOR ME......... I GET SO LONELY, DEPRESSED. YET I HAVE PEACE WHEN HE IS NOT AROUND. HE DISAPPEARS FOR A WEEK OR MORE, APPEARS WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION. WHEN HE IS AROUND , I AM NERVOUS, IT ALSO SEEMS AS IF I HAVE NOTHING BUT BAD LUCK WHEN HE IS NEAR. WHEN AM I GOING TO HAVE ENOUGH............

HE DOES NOT BUILD ME UP, AT ALL. HE IS ABUSIVE... YET WHEN HE IS GOOD ..... HE IS WONDERFUL. WHEN HE IS BAD , WATCH OUT!

people say you never get everything you want in life, so compare the good things about being with him to the bad. base on your own deduction, make a decision for a better life.

'you never get everything you want in life..' I think people are referring to million dollar cars or perfect body.  abuse is a crime. get away from it as fast as you can.

Run as fast as you can. This is obviously an unhealthy relationship and the bad far outweighs the good. Have respect for yourself and realize you deserve better.

The first thing you should do is not beat yourself up... this is totally normal for a recovering drug addict or alcoholic. If you aren't already in an unhealthy relationship when you get sober the predilection towards becoming involved in one is great. So you are not alone. When you decide that you are worth the freedom and happiness you will call it quits. Everyone has to reach a bottom with regard to unhealthy behaviour. The scary thing is some people's bottoms include death. So stop digging... you've hurt yourself enough. You don't have to do this anymore. There are support groups for this as well... contact someone at an AA intergroup office, you can find it in the yellow pages under alcoholic anonymous, and ask if they know any hotlines for the kind of emotional abuse you are suffering from. Google it too! And last but not least work the steps of AA or NA and you will find a solution
