Methotrexate

My husband's rheumatologist had previously presribed methotrexate for him, but FORGOT to tell him to take folic acid while he was taking it. In a very short period of time; my husband then developed all kinds of other problems; arthritic nodules, bouts of pericarditis, fluid in the pleural cavity of his lungs, and a monster kidney stone that took two trips to the hospital for procedures to break it up small enough to be able to pass. He is now off of that medication, THANK GOD! But, has anyone else had these same types of issues with methotrexate, and if so has there been any success in reversing these side effects?

I was on methotrexate also, did not have the side effects your husband has but mine was a loss of jaw bone so ALL my upper teeth came out.  As a woman in her 40's that was devistating.  When I found out the mads caused it I was furious they did not warn me.  I stopped the med and stopped the jaw bone loss, so I hope that your husbands complications subside too.
