Eat fast - gain weight

According to Reuters, a new study, published in the British Medical Journal, highlights how eating styles, and not just what or how much is eaten, can contribute to obesity.

The study was completed by researchers at Osaka University in Japan and evaluated the eating  styles of more than 3,000 Japanese volunteers aged 30-69 years of age.  Participants who reported eating until they were full and eating quickly were three times more likely to be overweight than those who reported not eating until full and not eating quickly.

I often write about the importance of slowing down and paying attention to enjoy your meals/snacks and how this can help you to be satisfied with fewer calories.  This study emphasizes this connection.  In our fast-paced, fast food culture, now's the time to slow down and eat mindfully for better health.
