Eat the Rainbow

Today I had the pleasure of speaking to a group of Parish nurses at my local hospital.  Parish nurses are awesome people who use their nursing expertise in their churches to bring preventive health education to members of their church congregations. It's a great concept and allows for attention on body, mind, and spirit.

One of my topics included foods to increase for better health.  And what foods top the list?  Fruits and vegetables.  And when it comes to fruits and veggies, remember to eat all the colors of the rainbow.  When you eat the full spectrum of colors, you better insure that you¿re getting a full spectrum of nutrients as well.

So, during these grey days of winter, why not splash color into your life by perking up your plate with festive colors.  Red, yellow. orange, green, blue, purple, and even brown and white fruits and veggies all contribute different beneficial and powerful phytonutrients.  Have you eaten your colors today?
