LIGHTING UP LIVES: MOVIE MAGIC & MARVELOUS MEMORIES
Last night a very special friend, Eddie Kessler, writer, producer, television & radio personality, and Hollywood-in-its-Heydey film expert, created a totally magical evening for some of our favorite Cafe seniors:
With his huge movie screen, reel-to-reel projector, plenty of popcorn and lots of insider info on "behind-the-scenes at Hollywood productions", Eddie shared a favorite Clark Gable film in 16mm CinemaScope!
As the movie ended, I watched the real magic begin...
With incredible stories and memorabilia to share, Eddie transported every senior back to a younger time, filled with their own special memories of happy happenings that they eagerly shared with one another.
As I watched their animated exchange, these usually-sedate seniors blossomed in front of my eyes, laughing and smiling and even some giggling as they recalled magical moments in their younger lives.
My Cafe friends and I applaud Eddie Kessler's mission of bringing his magical "Films & TV on Wheels" programs to senior centers, adult day programs, and senior living communities, lighting up the hearts and minds and spirits of residents with his uniquely personal Hollywood flair for Movie Magic & Marvelous Memories!
For those of you whose loved ones are fortunate enough to live in MD/Wash. DC/VA/PA/DE areas, you can tell administrators to contact Eddie Kessler at 301-865-5302 to learn more about bringing some of his 2000 movie & tv programs to their centers and facilities to light up your loved one's days.
As for the rest of us, we may just have to persuade Eddie to bring his "Films & TV on Wheels" programs to our states!
Surely, we can all keep Eddie's magic in mind when we choose movies or music for our loved ones. Surely, we can try to light up our loved ones' hearts and minds and spirits through movie magic and marvelous memories.... Caringly, Jackie, Jeff, & Friends
