A LITTLE HELP GOES A LONG WAY

Several weeks ago, I attended a two-year old's birthday party, one of life's happiest events.  In a corner of the playroom, away from the 10 precious little ones scrambling around with toys of all sizes, sat one little boy all by himself as his mommy tried to get him to participate.

This blond-haired, blue-eyed little guy had special needs and could not keep up with the other youngsters.  His mom looked both sad and tired, blinking to hold back the flood of tears that she was clearly feeling.

In that moment, I realized that so many, many caregivers are taking care of children and teens and adults with special needs; and I knew the Caregiver Cafe friends should reach out to them.

So, to all the wonderful parents and families who are the caretakers and advocates of their precious children, let me extend a helping hand and invite you to drop by the Cafe to find resources and caring from our special friends.

Friends like Parent to Parent USA, (www.p2pusa.org) an organization that helps families find support from another parent whose child has similar special needs to offer guidance and informational resources; because they learned from experience that  A Little Help Goes A Long Way!    Visit their website and find a parent to parent program closest to you. We hope you will get to know them; they are as special as you are.  Caringly, Jackie, Jeff, & your Cafe Friends
