The Fitness Zone

Workout enthusiast Jodi Rigotti discusses the latest exercise trends and reveals her secrets for success at the gym.

Bring it back!

I've completely lost my fitness motivation, and I don't know how to get it back. I could sit here and name a million reasons -- ie. we moved to a new townhouse and haven't joined a new gym (and on top of that, we spend alot of our free time on house stuff), it's getting so COLD out that it doesn't make me want to exericse.

But even though I know it's kind of important to recognize the problem, even more important is this solution. I'm just so frustrated! I just need to jump back into working out so I can realize again how much I actually like it. My goal is to join a gym next week and go!

Re: Bring it back!

Your motivation may be a bit sluggish, but I can attest what you are experiencing.  I too was a workout buff and was drastically changed by my diagnosis of colorectal cancer a year ago.  I'm finding it much harder to engage my body to respond to the standard workouts I used to love.  I've since gotten a membership at a local gym and I really enjoy the group classes.  These classes allow me to be surrounded by other members looking to have fun in addition to working out.  Please consider getting a membership before the cold moves, I'm sure you'll feel a whole better when you do!
