This time I know it's for real
I feel like I've been saying for months now that I've fallen off track with my diet and exercise routine. I keep saying, "I have to get back into it, I have to get back into it." But for some reason, the determination just hasn't been sticking.
But I think I'm really ready this time.
Over the weekend, I joined the local gym, which was a major missing piece of the puzzle. Dan and I moved a month ago and since we hadn't joned a gym here, we were in limbo with our workout routines. Plus, with the everything going on with the move, I hadn't even worked out very much prior to the move. So, I'm now officially a member of a gym here and already went last night! It wasn't an all-out intense workout (I wanted to be smart about things, of course, and work back slowly), but it felt sooo good to get a sweat going again and get those endorphins running through me.
And now I'm becoming inspired to eat better. It's not that I eat "bad." For the most part, I maintain a pretty healthy diet. But I know my weaknesses and cravings, and it's all a matter of having the determination to control them. So as I sit here drinking a big glass of fresh juice (carrot, apple, beet, pear, cucumber), I'm feeling pretty great about things. Here's to positive change!

Congratulations Jodi! Sounds like you're settling in to your new home and community. From my personal and professional experience, regular exercise seems to inspire discipline and motivation for healthy eating habits. Cheers!
