Need a place to vent :)
By mishi8055

Just wanted a place to voice my feelings and my aggravations as i dont want to do it with my family, they are worried enough as it is.

i survived!!

well, i am now home from the hospital, and to say that the surgery hurt would be an understatement. swallowing is still very much a big issue, but its getting better as time goes by, coughing and sneezing, not to mention hickups are my biggest problems.  i think the drain was the worst part.  i was up walking around shortly after the op so i think that helped with them letting me come home. i did have some issues with my calcium levels that have continued since i came home, but ive been able to keep them under control and hope to continue to do so.  it has not yet stopped amazing me how much we take being able to do simple things for granted until it becomes a painful problem to try to do them.  well, back to bed for more r and r!

Re: i survived!!

Hi Mishi,

I just wanted to let you know that there are people out here reading your blog and do care. I hope that you have a speedy recovery and can get back to normal life soon. I am no fan of surgeries. I just had a minor one about a month ago and I just remember thinking, wow, while I am cooped up in bed here, life is still going on outside my front door. However, there is (normal) life after recooperation. It doesn't seem possible during the whole recooping stages but it will get better. :) I know what you mean about taking simple things for granted. I hope that you have a full and healthy recovery. Take care and have a peaceful r and r evening. :) Tusnelda
