Young love

Posted by AgesWell

My son recently went through a breakup. He's having a really hard time with it. How do I tell him that there are so many more fish in the sea without sounding like I'm trying to make light of his feelings and the importance of his previous relationship?

Hello and welcome to our community - - my name is Natalie, and I'm the moderator here.

Wow. I can remember my first (and 2nd, and 3rd, and 4th..lol) breakups, and how devestated I was.  One thing that always helped me was telling myself that as amazing as I thought that relationship had been, the next one was only going to be better, and that whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

Truthfully, I don't think I would really appreciate good relationships as much unless I had gone through some heartbreak...maybe talking to him about things like that can help?

Hope this was somewhat helpful! :-P
