Debbie, I smoked for many years 28-30. I quit in 2005 because I was having shortness of breath. I have read if you die from COPD it's like suffercating. Dear God isn't that enough reason for you to quit. Do you want to be on a oxygen tank? How pretty will that be.

I have alot of problems around flu season. When I get sick I have shortness of breath for 4-8 weeks. I feel horrible just lay around it's hard to function. This year the prednisone wasn't even working for me. I wanted to die. Now it's been 7 weeks and still having shortness of breath but it's tolerable. Next week I see a pulmunary. The problem is they never find anything wrong with me.

Don't ever give up! I have had emphysema for 20 years and was forced to quit my job because of it.

I've applied for disability and had my breathing test today! It showed my lungs were the age of 127!

I got married 10-10-10!

My husband is healthy and 9 years younger than myself! God put us together and it can happen for you too.
