chronicity of seizures and epilepsy

Posted by

After having a resection in 2002, I am one of those lucky people that still seizure. Not a problem. Seizure, come out of it in the ambulance or the er or on the bus, or the street whatevahs...My problem, I applied to go on a archeological dig in Guam this summer through the University of Hawaii and they keep giving me probs. Im 50 yrs old, my caregiver is from Guam and would go with, I am a department of vocational Rehabilitation funded student, I have finished my major in Sociology and this is for my minor in anthropology, my counselor with the school was concerned if I seizured in the field, I assured her I can seizure anywhere as happened a year and a half ago while waiting for a bus and was robbed while the seizure was generalizing, if I worried so much about my seizures I would never leave home, Her disability is blindness, but I don't think she fathoms my disability, although she is a excellent disability advocate otherwise. She felt I may put others at risk if on a climb, but the professor said there is no climbing involved. I have tried to mitigate all liability on the university and the study abroad program by asking my guam-born chomorrow speaking friend/care giver who assits me when I have after effects after seizure, if he would go, his mother and family still reside in Guam. He said yes. The university of Hawaii @ Manoa is still unmoveable- any suggestions?
