Lowfat Cocoa Brownies
Ingredients:
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup cocoa powder, European style if available
3/4 cup cake flour
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3/4 cup applesauce
1 egg white
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt (necessary)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup evaporated skim milk
Cooking Directions:Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8x8 in. or 9x9 in. square pan with nonstick cooking spray. Combine first 7 ingredients in a bowl. Mix thoroughly. Whisk next 2 ingredients in another bowl, and stir in next 3 ingredients. Stir in dry mixture until blended. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 35-40 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan and cut into squares. |
