Dr. Elissa Thompson is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Thompson received dual undergraduate degrees in Political Science and French Literature from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her medical doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2002, and completed her residency training and fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at the Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in 2008. Dr. Thompson has a special interest in preventive cardiovascular health care and cardiac disease in women. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the American Society of Echocardiography. She has privileges at Georgetown University Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital, and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Thompson is currently profiled in the October issue of Redbook Magazine, and is featured on the WUSA Channel 9/Suburban Hospital Public Service announcement for the 2008 American Heart Association-Greater Washington Heart Walk. |
