Dr. Christy, a native of New Orleans, LA, is an Internal Medicine and Pediatrics physician whose practice, located in Gretna, serves the greater New Orleans area by providing urgent care as well as primary care for patients from all walks of life. She believes maintaining a strong doctor-patient relationship is vital to the ongoing health, wellness and recovery of this community. The mission of Valentine Medical Center to put patients first, is a mission she lives by every day. Christy received her undergraduate degree in 1996 from Xavier University of Louisiana and her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 2000. She completed an Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at Tulane University Medical Center in 2004. During her residency she received many awards and honors. In 2002, she was the recipient of The 2002 Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. She is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Tulane University. Valentine Medical Center was featured on Oprah Show shortly following the storm. Christy brought national attention to the critical need for health care service in the New Orleans area. Christy continues her mission of community as the featured medical personality for the ABC's Good Morning New Orleans program. She is currently launching a city-wide food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank themed Strive for Five. Her goal is to teach kids how to properly eat with the 5 categories of the food pyramid while challenging locals to donate items from the pyramid. Beyond her medical practice, Christy is the dedicated mother of a three year old girl. Truly a superwoman, she hopes to take her lessons learned as a mother, physician and business owner and share them with the children of New Orleans through a series of inspirational books she hopes to have published in the near future.
