HEADACHES: Weather related?

Posted by Marleneemm

First, let me introduce myself.
My  name's Marlene, I'm a 56 year old female who has suffered from
Migraines since the age of 6,I have bad allergies, bad sinus problems.

Of course, when I was a child my doctor did not know that I was having
migraines~he kept telling my mom "oh it's just growing pains, she'll grow out of the headaches when she gets her period"

The headaches were so bad, they'd begin right between my eyes on
the bridge of my nose~and as I got older they "spread all over my face"

When I would get a headache my mom would have to darken my
bedroom, take the phone off of the hook~and then put up a sign on our
apartment doorbell that read "DO NOT RING BELL,PLEASE KNOCK"

She then would attempt to make me comfortable.
We found that my headaches "laughed at all of the then OTC remidies,
and that's when I began the Perscription drugs for pain"

Darvon, was the first one. Did nothing for the pain.
The latest one is Texrimet.

And an old standby: Execedrine Migraine.
Have used it since it came out~one doctor used to give me sample
boxes of the stuff cause he knew my headaches!.

Now I don't know about anyone else but before it rains I get really bad
headaches~I can feel/see it.
If you look at me I look "Like someone pulled my electricial cord".
I have no energy,I  look dead, there's no light in my eyes~It's like a
masque on my face. You know I've got a headache brewing!.

My nose is stuffy,I can't breathe, the pain is all under my eyes, around
my eyebrows, my teeth even hurt.

The only time I feel better is when there's a change in the pressure~
As I'm typing this I'm in pain.
Last night, I was exactly feeling the symptoms I explained above~~~~
The reason? I awoke to SNOW.
I felt this mess coming on LAST Friday!!!!!

Now I expect to be uncomfortable till it gets warmer/dryer.

Anyone else suffer from Weather related Migraine???
tell me your stories, I'd love to hear them!
Maybe we can trade tips about what to do during a headache?

I suffer from severe migraines everytime a LOW Front comes in and changes the weather.  I Have had migraines since I was 4 years olds and the "Low Front" migranes started when I was a teenager.

Like you I can predict weather changes too.  My regular migraines center through my left eye but a weather migraine radiates pain from the right side on my head.  Strange but so true.

Good Luck I switched to Imitrex in 1999 with great results and I no longer go to the ER for a Demerol shot.  Yeah... for eme today it's raining and I knew it was coming since yesterday.
