Exercising with disability

Posted by Gomezy3k

Every show on weight loss, every time I go to a dietitian or doctor, all I hear is I need to diet and exercise.  Which is fine if I could exercise.  I went through physical therapy for a while and only made it through with lots of pain medication.  I have lower back pain, no cartledge in my left knee and darn little in my right, my left leg is numb on the outside because of nerve damage.  If it remained numb it might be OK, but when I stand or walk for any length of time it begins to burn, then I get sharp stabbing pains that are terrible.  So any prolonged walking, standing, sitting, moving or bending is out.  I do not have access to a pool, and do not swim if I did.  Any suggestions about what to do to lose?

My sympathies, I have a cousin sibling who faces same trauma and from his experience I would suggest the following:-

  • Drink lots of warm water (can be mixed with honey or lemon once a day)
  • Stop consumption of dairy products and reduce fats (no butter, sweets, etc)
  • If you are looking for a faster weight loss chose slimming pills, after consulting with doctors to check if any of these pills might cause side effects or not will react adversely with any of the current pills that you might be on. Be off these slimming pills when you have achieved your aimed weight loss.
  • Practice deep breathing and some meditation. No it will not help in your weight loss, but will improve your quality of living J

All the best!

Today's Poll
How often do you perform breast self-exams?

Every month on a regular schedule.
I try to do it every month, although I forget sometimes.
Every once in a while, when I think of it.
I don't really perform breast self-exams.
