Does anyone know of an effective treatment for peripheral neuropathy? I'm a prisoner in my own home.

Describe your symptoms and I'll let you know what I know.

I'm jumping in here as I believe I have PN.  One doctor suggested that may be the problem.  My PCP is perplexed.  I have been on Neurotin and Lyrica but no relief.  My symptoms are burning, tingling feet.  First, I went to physical therapy for Planter Fasciitis and it just made it worse.  Mis-diagnosis by a foot doctor.  No heel pain which is associated with PF.  I have had this since the first of the year.  I have done some research on it.  I did have a fall last Oct. and a minor chip and legiment pull in left ankle which may have caused this problem.  I do not know what to do next.  Any assistance would be appreciated.  It certainly has hendered my life style.

I have suffered with what six doctors say is PH.  Most days I feel I can't take anymore pain.  I have had this for over six years.  Mine started in the lower back and progressed down the legs and into the ankles and feet.  I use a walker as have no balance.  I had major surgery on the back six yrs. ago - it didn't help.  Two years ago I found a so-called nerve doctor who said he could cure me.  He scliced the top of my right foot and then went for the lower back which he said would take about an hour.  I ended up in surgery over six hours.  He said he ws tired - went home and left me for the next day which never came.  I never saw him again as he was fired from the hospital for practices  the other surgeons objected to.  I talked to many people before having this done who had success, but think he didn't know how to fix me.  I now have kidney problems and work with a cardiologist after having a heart attack.  Does anyone know of a reputable nerve surgeon.  I take Norco and another pain pill that I can't remember the name of.  This also left me with a very short memory.  I need some help badly.  Am going to have another low back x-ray which might show something that would put me in for a full body MRI.  I am 78 yrs young, but feel I still have life left as am not ready to die, but many days I wish I would just pass away in my sleep, which is the only relief I have.  I have been tested for just about everything.  Is there any answer for neuropathy - it is horrible.  No pain meds have helped
