Bechamel Sauce

1/2 tsp white pepper
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 cups warm milk
2 tbsp flour
2 tsp onion, minced

Cooking Directions:

Melt butter in a saucepan. Add onion and cook over low heat for 3-5 minutes, or until soft. Stir in the flour and cook the until mixture becomes foamy. Whisk in milk, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer 15-20 minutes, or until sauce is reduced to about 1 cup. Strain and serve over cooked vegetables.
