Up until earlier this year, no one had even heard of swine flu. Now, as it's swept through at least 70 countries, including the United States, swine flu has become part of our collective consciousness. As a result of the global spread of the virus, the World Health Organization (WHO) raised the worldwide pandemic alert level of swine flu to Phase 6, signalling that a global pandemic is underway.

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) regularly analyzes information about influenza disease activity in the United States and publishes findings of key flu indicators in a report called FluView. During the week of October 25-31, 2009, a review of the key indictors found that influenza activity remained high in the United States.

Here you'll find key information on swine flu including important guidelines to help keep you and your family safe from this potentially deadly virus.
