Posted by RobJ

What foods should I be eating? I have hypothyroidism and despite taking medicine, I'm still gaining a bit of weight and am always tired. Help!

I'd stay away from sugars and carbs. It takes your body longer to break those down.

Since the thyroid gland also regulates metabolism, i'd definitely try exercising as well as staying away from carbs and other simple sugars.

Lots of green vegetables, whole grains and stay away from too much dairy. Above all...you have to exercise. Get that heart-rate up!!

Thanks for all of your advice guys. I've been avoiding most carbs but haven't cut it completely out of my diet. I don't eat much dairy either. It's made a world of difference. I have so much more energy. I used to nod off during meetings at work. I can't believe changing my diet has made such a difference.
