Central Sleep Apnea
While most parents try to get their children to sleep, for Monique, putting her two children to bed is another story. Monique, her 9-year-old daughter, Amalia, and 5-year-old son, Diego, all suffer from a rare genetic disease called congenital hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS) or central sleep apnea, which can cause them to stop breathing while asleep.
