A Robot Is Making Doctor Visits More Tolerable for Children

A robot named MEDi is being used to help children deal with pain and stress while receiving blood tests and immunization shots. The 2 foot humanoid robot tells patients when to breathe and how to relax. MEDi was developed by Tanya Beran, a professor at the University of Calgary in Canada. Four robots were purchased by the Alberta Children's Hospital in January and they've seen remarkable results.
