What Is Sarcoidosis?
Pfizer Chief Medical Officer Freda Lewis-Hall explains that sarcoidosis is a condition that occurs when your immune cells mistakenly harm your healthy cells, leading to inflammation and tissue and organ damage. The most commonly affected areas are the lungs and the lymph nodes, especially those in the chest. Sarcoidosis can be difficult to diagnose because the symptoms mimic other illnesses and doctors don't know it's cause. Dr. Travis and Dr. Lewis-Hall discuss possible symptoms and treatments.
