Stewed Dried Fruit with Ginger
Ingredients:
1 tsp ginger, minced
1 lemon, sliced
4 cups water
1 cup dried apricots, washed and drained
1/2 cup dried prunes
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup dried figs, washed and drained
Cooking Directions:Combine all ingredients, except sugar, in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat to low. Stir in sugar and simmer 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Cover and simmer 30 minutes or until fruit is tender. Using a slotted spoon, remove fruit from syrup. Serve fruit warm or chilled. |
