Certain foods can trigger heartburn, so try to avoid them whenever possible. These include oranges, lemons, grapefruits, cranberries, tomatoes, and raw onions. Meats like ground beef, marbled sirloin, and chicken wings can also produce heartburn, as well as dairy products such as sour cream, ice cream, or cottage cheese.
